Château Duhart-Milon 1990 is a distinguished expression from the Pauillac appellation, produced by a vineyard that has roots dating back to the 18th century. The property is owned and run by the Rothschild family. This wine exhibits a deep, concentrated colour, the nose reveals aromas of cassis and black cherry, accompanied by intricacies of tobacco, liquorice, and earthy undertones. Composed of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon and 25% Merlot, it reflects the terroir of the region, offering a structured profile that resonates with the lineage of this renowned estate.

The 1990 Duhart-Milon is a vintage I have not drunk for a long time. Served blind, it has a lovely nose of blackberry, singed leather, hung game and pencil shavings. The palate is fresh and well-balanced, disguising the warmth of the growing season with some style thanks to the perfectly judged acidity. Yes, a little foursquare on the finish, it is Duhart after all, but what a gorgeous wine. This is an ex-château bottle that was served at Maison François in London.Neal Martin26th January 2023
