Château Ducru-Beaucaillou 1997 hails from the prestigious St-Julien appellation and reflects the estate`s notable heritage. Owned by the Borie family since 1941, the vineyard spans 50 hectares primarily composed of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The estate was one of the original Second Growth wines classified in 1855. The 1997 vintage showcases a complex nose with notes of dark fruit and earthy undertones, complemented by subtle hints of spices. The wine is matured for a minimum of 18 months in new oak barrels, contributing to its structure.

Vinous
Deep red. Aromatic, very expressive nose combines black plum, currant, cedar, coconut, licorice and violet. Not especially dense or sweet in the mouth but offers youthful freshness and noteworthy flavor intensity. Narrows a bit on the back end, which features slightly hard tannins and moderate length. Perhaps not completely recovered from the bottling.
