Double Zero 00 VGR Pinot Noir 2022 is a single-vineyard wine from the Vintage Hill Vineyard in Willamette Valley, Oregon, produced by a zero-zero approach (no added yeasts, no added sulphur dioxide). The vineyard`s unique terroir and meticulous vineyard management contribute to the wine`s character. The 2022 growing season was warm, producing grapes with concentrated flavours. This wine exhibits notes of red cherry, subtle earthy undertones and spice. Its structure is defined by fresh acidity and fine tannins, reflecting the purity of the fruit. Double Zero is the project of Burgundy winemaker Laurent Delaunay.

The 2022 Pinot Noir VGR is youthfully flinty to begin, requiring plenty of air to reveal blackberry, rhubarb, cinnamon stick and woodsy undertones. The medium-bodied palate offers expansive, layered flavors. It’s balanced by juicy acidity and has a long, nuanced finish. It will benefit from 2-3 years in the cellar or some time in a decanter. - Erin Brooks

The highly expressive 2022 Pinot Noir VGR mixes kirsch liqueur with crushed blackberries, violets and sage, taking on a savory whiff of seared meats. It’s round and pliant, displaying lovely lift as juicy acidity motivates its ripe red berry fruits. A subtle tinge of salty concentration adds depth toward the close. The 2022 tapers off with an almost crunchy sensation, long and tactile, leaving a spicy flourish and hints of sour cherry pit to linger on. This is a beautiful wine of contrasts.Eric Guido1st December 2024
