The 2011 Dominus Estate is a carefully crafted Bordeaux blend consisting of 88% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Petit Verdot and 4% Cabernet Franc. This vintage showcases a deep garnet hue, presenting complex aromas of dried herbs, black cherry and cedar. On the palate, it delivers medium-bodied structure with layered flavours of plum and subtle earthiness. Dominus Estate is owned by revered winemaker Christian Moueix, known for his expertise in Bordeaux.

Vinous
The 2011 Dominus is a bold, powerful wine. It opens with a huge bouquet redolent of dried herbs, licorice, spice, tobacco and espresso. Relative to most vintages of Dominus, the 2011 is a bit light, but compared to most wines of the year, it is pretty big! The cool, savory notes that are typical of the year are present, but not dominant, while the 2011 is marked by a distinctly red fruit profile. Antonio Galloni31st May 2022

A First Growth in Napa
Along with Opus One, Dominus is one of the greatest examples of applying the Bordelais approach to winemaking to the great vineyards of the Napa Valley. Grapes are sourced from Yountville, specifically the historic Napanook vineyard, from which the winery's second wine takes its name.
The 'Grand Vin' is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot - a classic Bordeaux blend. After vinification, around 30% of the wine is loaded into new oak barrels for 15 months before bottling. Initial releases of Dominus met with mixed reviews, but since the late 1990s, the winery has established itself as one of the greatest in America.
