Dom Ruinart 1993 is a prestige-cuvée vintage Champagne crafted primarily from Grand Cru Chardonnay grapes sourced from the Côtes des Blancs and the Montagne des Reims. As a vintage Champagne, it showcases a complex profile with notes of citrus, applied minerality and hints of toasted brioche. Ruinart, founded in 1729, holds the distinction of being the oldest Champagne house, with Dom Ruinart being its prestige cuvée since its introduction in 1959. This magnum format offers enhanced ageing potential, allowing subtle nuances to evolve over time. Ideal for collectors and enthusiasts.

Among the wines of the 1990s, I especially liked the 1993 Dom Ruinart, which was beautiful, especially considering this was an original disgorgement. Layers of honeyed fruit, licorice and mint were woven together in a captivating fabric. We also caught this wine at near peak, as it was firing on all cylinders. What a beautiful wine.Antonio Galloni1st October 2008

Ruinart

One of Champagne's Oldest

Founded in Reims in 1729 by Nicolas Ruinart (the nephew of legendary Benedictine monk Dom Ruinart), Ruinart is one of the oldest champagne houses in France. The Ruinart style is characterised by its supreme elegance and finesse. A key cuvée is the Ruinart Blanc de Blancs - the house’s signature champagne - made using 100% Chardonnay grapes from vineyards in the Côte des Blancs and Montagne de Reims.

The Chardonnay variety is at the heart of all of the house's cuvees, including the Ruinart Rosé Brut, which is a blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, mostly sourced from Premier Cru vineyards, in addition to the Dom Ruinart Blanc de Blancs and the Ruinart Brut.
