Château de Pez 2020 is a concentrated Saint-Estèphe red wine from one of the oldest and most consistent estates in the northern Médoc. Owned by the Rouzaud family (of Louis Roederer), this blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot reflects the excellence of the 2020 vintage through its deep core of black currants and cocoa beans. The palate is rich and unctuous, offering layers of cedar and spice with well-integrated, silky tannins. It is a classy and age-worthy Bordeaux, delivering remarkable value and intensity with a precise, lingering finish.

The 2020 de Pez is a potent, brooding wine, just as it was en primeur. Black cherry, gravel, tobacco, scorched earth, chocolate and menthol all flesh out in the glass. This is a pretty rich, heady Saint-Estèphe, punctuated by huge tannins and quite a bit of heft. Antonio Galloni23rd February 2023

Offering up aromas of sweet blackberries, cigar wrapper and loamy soil, the 2020 de Pez is medium to full-bodied, ample and fleshy, with a succulent, charming profile that means it will drink well young. - William Kelley
91 Jane Anson
The 2020 de Pez is a blend of 51% Cabernet Sauvignon, 43% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc, and 3% Petit Verdot. Medium to deep garnet-purple colored, it bursts with bold notions of fresh blackberries, blackcurrants, and kirsch, followed by hints of wild sage, crushed rocks, and damp soil. The medium-bodied palate is crunchy and intense with a lively backbone and plenty of bright black fruits on the long finish.Lisa Perrotti-Brown12th March 2023
