The 2005 Château de Malle has a pleasing, harmonious, botrytis-rich bouquet with fine delineation. honeysuckle, minerals and orange-blossom gently floating from the glass. The palate is very well balanced with tensile citrus fruit that marries beautifully with the clear honey, mandarin and citrus notes. There is a compelling build to this wine in the mouth." The 2005 Château de Malle has a strangely mentholly bouquet that is rather distracting. The palate is balanced with tangy marmalade and orange rind notes, but it feels a bit short and attenuating on the finish. Tasted at the 2005 Sauternes horizontal held at Château Coutet. Very opulent nose with lovely tangerine flavours and quite a tight, corseted structure. Another wine with a slightly bitter citrus peel element. Chewy end and lots of alcohol on the finish. (JR)
