Duty Charges

Below is a summary of the new duty charges per bottle as of February 2026. Please note that these vary depending on the ABV and are subject to change. Please get in touch if you require more information:

Transparent Billing and Rate Calculations

Annual Billing: Clients are invoiced annually based on the wines stored in the preceding year.
Case Equivalents: A case is defined as 9 litres of wine (typically twelve 750ml bottles), ensuring clarity in pricing.
Pro-Rata Charges: Storage fees are charged on a per-bottle basis, and wines stored for part of a month will be billed accordingly.

How to Use Our Bonded Storage

Purchase en primeur or under-bond wines from Hedonism Wines.
Automatically enjoy twelve months of free storage at our bonded storage when you open your storage account.
After twelve months, your storage will continue at the rates outlined above, with quarterly invoicing.
When you are ready to receive your wines, simply request delivery. Most orders are fulfilled within 3-4 working days.

This ultra-rare single vintage Dalwhinnie has an astonishing bright intensity for its age and comes uniquely from refill American oak hogsheads, all of which were casked in 1989. Three decades of maturity have bought a fine elegance to the vibrant distillery character, allowing its moorland aromas to peak. The result is smoothly sweet, yet also surprisingly peppery. The aroma is gentle; sweet and fragrant with herbal scents, subtle traces of butterscotch and hard fruit candy, and a base of spicy wood. The texture is smoothly creamy, the vibrant taste richly sweet overall, with a drying, gradually building peppery-spicy warmth. The finish is long and delightfully warming.

A Highlander in Speyside's Clothing

Famed for being the highest working distillery in Scotland until the re-opening of Braeval, Dalwhinnie is located in the Cairngorm National Park, a remote spot where winter snows often block the country roads which surround the distillery, leaving Dalwhinnie cut off in its fastness until the temperature drops.

Dalwhinnie’s water source of Lochan an Doire-Uaine, (Gaelic for ‘lake in the green grove’) in the Drumochter Hills flows over peat through Allt an t'Sluic, the distillery burn, which is thought to contribute to Dalwhinnie malt’s subtly smoky Highland mouthfeel. But even though the gently peaty style of Dalwhinnie can be regarded as Highlands (confusingly, it was also nominated as the Highlands representative of the Diageo Classic Malts series), Dalwhinnie is geographically Speyside, and indeed was formally classified as a Speyside malt in 2009.

Production is geared towards producing a sulphur-y new make and a style of single malt whose smoky, floral edge surrounds a clean, honeyed centre. The flagship whisky of Dalwhinnie is the 15-year-old, while the cask-strength age-statement bottlings are 25-, 29- and 36-year-olds. Dalwhinnie also produces a Distillers Edition, finished in oloroso casks. The most recent addition to the range, Winter's Gold, is an homage to the distillery’s unusually cold location: made only with spirit distilled between October and March, it is recommended to be served straight from the freezer.
