Cuvée Frédéric Émile Trimbach 2019 is a dry white wine from Alsace, crafted from Riesling. This wine is sourced from the Grand Cru vineyards of Osterberg and Geisberg located in Ribeauvillé, known for their marl-calcaro-sandstone soils that contribute to the wine`s structure. The vinification process aims for a bone-dry style typical of Trimbach, resulting in a wine with pronounced acidity and distinct minerality. Aromas of citrus, white peach and flint emerge, leading to a concentrated mouthfeel and a long finish that will evolve over decades.

The 2019 Riesling Frédéric Emile is precise and savory on the nose, blending the ripe and intense fruit of the Geisberg with a rather coolish and purely mineral or rocky tone of the Osterberg (?) that is reminiscent of melting salts. Tight and with lots of tannins on the palate, this is a full-bodied, highly energetic and vivacious Riesling with a long and tensioned as well as complex finish that pairs the ripe and dense fruit with structural elements to create something new and impressive. It`s very long and saline yet still too tight to be opened today. 14.1% stated alcohol. Tasted at Trimbach in November 2024. - Stephan Reinhardt

On limestone.Very pale straw. Discreet, lightly nutty nose that opened out in the glass. Tight with a suggestion of almonds and light bitterness on the end. Still quite chewy on the very long end. Still tight. (JR)
