Paul Jaboulet Aîné Côte-Rôtie Les Jumelles 1999 is a full-bodied red wine produced from Syrah grapes in the Côte-Rôtie appellation of the northern Rhône Valley. Les Jumelles translates as `the twins` and refers to vineyards on the Côte Brune and Côte Blonde which make up this blend. While not as commonly seen or referenced as Jaboulet wines such as the iconic Hermitage La Chapelle, Les Jumelles is invariably a superb expression of Côte-Rôtie`s prime Syrah terroir. "Strong, bright fruit (red berry, black plum and black cherry) rounds out the mouth of this medium-full Côte-Rotie. More earth berries, herb and hickory smoke on the nose; tart pepper flavours dominate the medium-long, juicy finish." Wine Enthusiast, 2001
