Duty Charges

Below is a summary of the new duty charges per bottle as of February 2026. Please note that these vary depending on the ABV and are subject to change. Please get in touch if you require more information:

Transparent Billing and Rate Calculations

Annual Billing: Clients are invoiced annually based on the wines stored in the preceding year.
Case Equivalents: A case is defined as 9 litres of wine (typically twelve 750ml bottles), ensuring clarity in pricing.
Pro-Rata Charges: Storage fees are charged on a per-bottle basis, and wines stored for part of a month will be billed accordingly.

How to Use Our Bonded Storage

Purchase en primeur or under-bond wines from Hedonism Wines.
Automatically enjoy twelve months of free storage at our bonded storage when you open your storage account.
After twelve months, your storage will continue at the rates outlined above, with quarterly invoicing.
When you are ready to receive your wines, simply request delivery. Most orders are fulfilled within 3-4 working days.

Founded in 1946, Domaine Guigal is one of the most revered and unwaveringly consistent estates in the Rhône Valley and is often seen as a benchmark for quality Côte-Rôtie. The top three wines from Guigal are known affectionately in some circles as the La La’s, which is short for La Landonne, La Mouline and La Turque. La Mouline is produced from Syrah and Viognier sourced from a 1-hectare plot of vines on the Côte Blonde, some of which are close to 100 years of age. The 1989 is an incredibly rich wine with remarkably concentrated fruits, exceptional perfume and a seamless texture.

Roasted redcurrant, raspberry, tobacco and warm earth on the nose, along with an exhilarating component of exotic spices; this reminded me of the extraordinary '89 Haut-Brion and La Mission. The 1989 single vineyard Cote Roties are magnificent. Now that they are three months away from bottling, their taste is reminiscent of Guigal's 1985s and 1982s. All of them possess fabulous concentration, sweet, expansive personalities.

The 1989 La Mouline is an explosively rich wine, with its profound perfume of violets, black-raspberries, and creamy, toasty new oak. It should drink well for the next 10-15 years.

Guigal's Cote Roties, particularly the single vineyard wines, are exceptional wines. They offer extraordinary flavor intensity, impeccable purity, and awesome length and complexity. The yields from the three vineyards - La Mouline, La Landonne, and La Turque - rarely exceed two tons per acre. Moreover, no one harvests any later. That the wines spend nearly three and one-half years in 100% new oak tells you something about the level of extraction Guigal is able to achieve. While the oak is noticeable for 1-2 years after bottling, anyone who has tasted the 1985s, 1983s, 1982s, 1980s, or 1978s would be hard-pressed to find evidence of new oak. The level of fruit extraction in these wines literally soaks up the oak, making them all the more structured and complex. While all three wines share phenomenal concentration and marvelous perfumes, they could not be more different.

Benchmark for Côte-Rôtie excellence

Founded in the village of Ampuis by Etienne Guigal in 1946, Domaine Guigal is one of the most revered and unwaveringly consistent estates in the Rhône Valley, and is often seen as a benchmark for Côte-Rôtie Syrah. A pioneer of the single-vineyard concept in this appellation Guigal is best known for its top three wines, known affectionately as the 'La-Las', which is short for La Landonne, La Mouline and La Turque – the domaine's top Syrah vineyards .

Other notable vineyards of this 75-hectare estate include La Doriane (the source of Guigal's Condrieu), Ex-Voto (used for Hermitage) and Vignes de l'Hospice (the source of one of Guigal's top St-Joseph Syrahs). All of these have become benchmark wines of their respective appellations. The Crozes-Hermitage appellation completes the roster of Northern Rhône estate vineyards.

Since 2006, Guigal has made a substantial investment in appellations of the Southern Rhône, using top-quality purchased fruit from trusted growers in Châteaneuf-du-Pape, Gigondas, Tavel and the Côtes du Rhône.
