E. Guigal is known for introducing the concept of single vineyard Côte Rôtie wines, with his three renowned wines, La Landonne, La Mouline, and La Turque, being highly coveted worldwide. This 2019 release showcases the wine`s power, featuring intense flavours of black and blue fruit, accented by spices and minerals. It exhibits remarkable clarity in its aromas of exotic spices, olives, and incense, with subtle hints of smoky bacon, mocha, and sweet liquorice emerging as it breathes. On the palate, it impresses with its smoothness and depth, offering concentrated notes of boysenberry, cherry liqueur, fruitcake, and vanilla. A touch of salty olive paste adds a unique element to the overall experience.

Due to its vinification with 100% whole clusters, the 2019 Côte-Rôtie La Landonne exudes a firm, gently stem-inflected bouquet of green bell pepper, dark berries, spices, pepper, licorice and gentian. Full-bodied, dense and structured, it’s concentrated and layered, with a multidimensional core of fruit and an ample, fleshy mid-palate framed by a robust chassis of tannins, concluding with a long, mordant and faintly saline finish. As always, it will require time to evolve gracefully in the cellar.Yohan Castaing20th November 2025

The smashing 2019 Côte-Rôtie La Landonne unfurls with boatloads of graphite, a core of ripe black fruits, menthol, wood smoke, crushed violets and a splash of espresso. Dense, bold and sexy, the 2019 is an alluring La Landonne of pedigree and class. Its massive tannic structure requires at least ten additional years in bottle. After that, this full-bodied elixir will shine brightly for a long time.Nicolas Greinacher28th March 2024

Benchmark for Côte-Rôtie excellence

Founded in the village of Ampuis by Etienne Guigal in 1946, Domaine Guigal is one of the most revered and unwaveringly consistent estates in the Rhône Valley, and is often seen as a benchmark for Côte-Rôtie Syrah. A pioneer of the single-vineyard concept in this appellation Guigal is best known for its top three wines, known affectionately as the 'La-Las', which is short for La Landonne, La Mouline and La Turque – the domaine's top Syrah vineyards .

Other notable vineyards of this 75-hectare estate include La Doriane (the source of Guigal's Condrieu), Ex-Voto (used for Hermitage) and Vignes de l'Hospice (the source of one of Guigal's top St-Joseph Syrahs). All of these have become benchmark wines of their respective appellations. The Crozes-Hermitage appellation completes the roster of Northern Rhône estate vineyards.

Since 2006, Guigal has made a substantial investment in appellations of the Southern Rhône, using top-quality purchased fruit from trusted growers in Châteaneuf-du-Pape, Gigondas, Tavel and the Côtes du Rhône.
