Based in the town of Premeaux-Prissey, Domaine de la Vougeraie is a leading Burgundy estate producing 37 individual cuvées each year. The label was launched in 1999 when the Boisset family decided to consolidate what they considered the best 35 hectares of their vineyards into one single Domaine. This Côte de Beaune comes from the lieu-dit ‘Les Pierres Blanches’, which has been certified organic by Ecocert since 2001. A blend of 95 % Chardonnay and 5% Pinot Blanc, the wine has been aged for 16 months in French oak barrels, followed by 2 months in stainless steel tank. A limited production of 7,980 bottles.
Vinous
The 2020 Côte de Beaune Les Pierres Blanches Blanc felt a little subdued on the nose when I tasted it. The palate is better with conspicuous tropical notes, rounded and plush, an easy-drinking Côte de Beaune for early consumption. Neal Martin1st December 2021

Located between the Côte de Nuits and the Côte de Beaune in Prémeaux, Domaine de la Vougeraie was founded by Jean-Claude Boisset in 1999. The name was inspired by domaine’s significant vineyard holdings in the village of Vougeot, which is also Boisset’s home.

One of Burgundy’s leading domaines, Vougeraie owns about 40ha of vineyard in more than 30 different appellations of Burgundy, including the Grands Crus of Clos Vougeot, Musigny, Bonnes-Mares, Charmes Chambertin, Mazoyères, Corton Clos du Roi and Corton Charlemagne. The domaine vineyards have been managed biodynamically since 2001. The highest possible production values and strictest levels of quality control, including a state-of-the-art sorting table, are maintained for the domaine’s entire range of wines. The domaine’s general manager, Sylvie Poillot, has managed the winemaking team since Pierre Vincent departed for Domaine Leflaive.
