Château Cos Labory takes its name to the word “caux”, meaning “stony hill,” and to François Labory, who owned the estate from 1820 to 1840. The 2010 release is composed of a blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon and 35% Merlot and displays notes of currants and blackberries, a full bodied palate and beautifully integrated tannins.
87 Robert Parker
Narrowly constructed for a 2010, this dense ruby/purple-tinged offering displays attractive mineral, blueberry and red currant notes as well as an elegant, solid style, but it is essentially superficial with significant tannins for the amount of depth. Cellar it for 5-6 years and keep your fingers crossed over the following 10-12 years. - Robert M. Parker, Jr.
87 Vinous
(a blend of 65% ca bernet sauvignon and 35% merlot; 14% alcohol Medium ruby. Perfumed aromas of red cherry, dark plum, sweet spices and herbs. Enters the mouth fleshy and sweet, then shows vibrant blackberry and blackcurrant flavors in the mid-palate. A solid spine of acidity accentuates the tannins on the back end, leaving a somewhat dry mouthfeel. Still, there should be enough fruit here to stand up to the tannins over time.
