Based in Vosne-Romanée, Domaine Méo-Camuzet is a highly revered name in Burgundy. The estate is run by Jean-Nicolas Méo, who took over from legendary Henri Jayer, a mentor who greatly influenced the Domaine’s winemaking style. Méo-Camuzet`s wines are known for their finesse, complexity, and age-worthiness, and `Les Perrières` is no exception. The 2011 vintage in Burgundy was known for its approachability in youth due to its ripe fruit profile and balanced structure. However, Grand Cru wines like the Méo-Camuzet Corton `Les Perrières` are still designed with considerable ageing potential in mind. At this stage, the 2011 vintage should exhibit evolved aromatic complexity, featuring notes of ripe red berries, forest floor, spice, and a touch of gamey, savoury notes.

Dark red cherries, plums, smoke, ash and scorched earth are some of the many nuances that come alive in the Corton-Perriéres. The flavors are deep, rich and resonant in this beautifully articulated Corton. Deceptively medium in body, the 2011 boasts superb length and impeccable balance, both of which suggest it will provide a long drinking window.Antonio Galloni1st March 2014
