Corton Le Rognet Maison Roche de Bellene 2014 is a Grand Cru red wine sourced from the prestigious Corton Le Rognet vineyard located on the Corton hill, characterised by its deep red clay soils. This terroir contributes to the wine’s robust structure and complexity. It presents an aromatic profile with subtle nuances of dark berries and earthy undertones. The palate reveals layers of ripe fruit interwoven with hints of mocha and subtle spice. Maison Roche de Bellene was founded by Nicolas Potel, and focuses on organic viticulture and minimal intervention winemaking techniques.
Vinous
Healthy dark red. Very ripe, soil-inflected aromas of raspberry, smoked meat, underbrush and spicy oak. In a distinctly savory style, showing good energy and peppery lift to its raspberry, redcurrant and earth flavors. Not particularly sweet but nicely delineated and alive. The wine's appeal, however, was slightly reduced by a strong oak element and some dusty wood tannins on the back end.Stephen Tanzer1st January 2016
