Vinous
The 2012 Corton-Charlemagne (from Le Charlemagne) is incredibly primary and intense. Today, it is the wine's pure sense of structure that stands out most. I very much like the sense of energy and brightness here. At the same time, it looks like the 2012 is going to need at least a few years in bottle before it is ready to show the full extent of its pedigree. There is plenty of thrill here, though, and a lot to look forward to as well.Antonio Galloni1st January 2014

Located between the Côte de Nuits and the Côte de Beaune in Prémeaux, Domaine de la Vougeraie was founded by Jean-Claude Boisset in 1999. The name was inspired by domaine’s significant vineyard holdings in the village of Vougeot, which is also Boisset’s home. One of Burgundy’s leading domaines, Vougeraie owns about 40ha of vineyard in more than 30 different appellations of Burgundy, including the Grands Crus of Clos Vougeot, Musigny, Bonnes-Mares, Charmes Chambertin, Mazoyères, Corton Clos du Roi and Corton Charlemagne. The domaine vineyards have been managed biodynamically since 2001. The highest possible production values and strictest levels of quality control, including a state-of-the-art sorting table, are maintained for the domaine’s entire range of wines. The domaine’s general manager, Sylvie Poillot, has managed the winemaking team since Pierre Vincent departed for Domaine Leflaive.
