Based in Meursault, Vincent Girardin is a prestigious Burgundy Domaine covering approximately 22 hectares of estate vineyards. In 2012 the business was acquired by Jean-Pierre Nié, the owner of Compagnie des Vins d’Autrefois in Beaune. This Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru is made from vines that are over 45 years old. 2001 was a particularly good vintage for white Burgundy, producing wines that are fresh and elegant.

Pungent, perfumed aromas of lime, apple, iodine and dusty stone. Rich, dense and lively, with vibrant, very pure flavors of lime, spice and dusty stone. At once chewy and light on its feet thanks to brisk acidity. Finishes clean and long. The most intensely flavored of the Girardin 2001s I've tasted to date. This grand cru vineyard appears to have done particularly well in vintage 2001.Stephen Tanzer1st September 2003
