Louis Latour Corton-Charlemagne 2005 is a full-bodied Burgundy white wine from the Grand Cru climat of Corton-Charlemagne in the Corton commune of the Côte de Beaune. Formed in 1797, Domaine Louis Latour covers approximately 48 hectares of vineyard, including 27 hectares of Grand Cru sites. The estate is centred in the village of Aloxe-Corton which has been the Latour`s family home since the inception of the house. This release comes from the Grand Cru Corton-Charlemagne, where Latour owns 10.5 hectares. "Though a dark straw colour similar to the 2004, the 2005 is riper, reflecting the vintage, with more melons than spice. Still, characteristic peppery notes come through nicely. Indeed, over the years tasting them side-by-side, the 2005 has always been riper and richer, while the 2004, racier and sleeker. Despite its richer presence, it retains vibrancy and is still energetic the next night. The 2005/2004 pair present an intriguing duality of style to consumers." Decanter, 2021
