Corton-Charlemagne Jean-Marc Pillot 2016 is a white wine from the prestigious Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru vineyard in Burgundy. Produced by Jean-Marc Pillot, a respected winemaker known for his precise practices in Chassagne-Montrachet, this wine showcases grapes sourced from the limestone-rich terraces on the Corton hill. The cool climate conditions of 2016 have enhanced the wine’s structure, yielding a profile marked by firm acidity and pronounced minerality. Flavours of white peach and citrus emerge, complemented by restrained oak nuances. This wine will benefit from a lengthy maturation period in bottle.
Vinous
(this fruit comes from Blair Pethel's Domaine Dublère): Bright yellow. Aromas of menthol, baked bread and nuts come across as a bit tired and in need of a sulfur addition. Fat and sweet but a bit heavy and lacking in definition, with soft citrus flavors dominating. Edgy on the finish. Not a great showing.Stephen Tanzer1st September 2017
