Benjamin Leroux previously managed one of Burgundy`s most famous estates, Domaine du Comte Armand. This lieu dit from Clos Vougeot is a full-bodied, powerful Pinot with a focus on purity of fruit.

A parcel by the wall of the Clos. 50% new oak. Barrel sample. Toasty and a little charry. Leaner on the palate than I expected. Dry, paper-fine texture. A contrast between richness on the nose and austerity of the palate. Long and firm. (JH)Julia Harding3rd December 2018
Vinous
The 2017 Clos de Vougeot Le Petit Maupertui Grand Cru has a light tarry bouquet, the 80% whole bunch fruit imparting light earthy/loam aromas, joined by floral scents that become more pronounced with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin and a fine bead of acidity, and quite strict and linear toward the sappy finish, which cuts away a little briefly compared to the other Leroux Grand Crus. Very good, but not the best Clos Vougeot that I have encountered from Leroux. Neal Martin1st January 2019
