Duty Charges

Below is a summary of the new duty charges per bottle as of February 2026. Please note that these vary depending on the ABV and are subject to change. Please get in touch if you require more information:

Transparent Billing and Rate Calculations

Annual Billing: Clients are invoiced annually based on the wines stored in the preceding year.
Case Equivalents: A case is defined as 9 litres of wine (typically twelve 750ml bottles), ensuring clarity in pricing.
Pro-Rata Charges: Storage fees are charged on a per-bottle basis, and wines stored for part of a month will be billed accordingly.

How to Use Our Bonded Storage

Purchase en primeur or under-bond wines from Hedonism Wines.
Automatically enjoy twelve months of free storage at our bonded storage when you open your storage account.
After twelve months, your storage will continue at the rates outlined above, with quarterly invoicing.
When you are ready to receive your wines, simply request delivery. Most orders are fulfilled within 3-4 working days.

Clos de la Roche Vieilles Vignes Domaine Ponsot 1993 is a Grand Cru red wine from Morey-Saint-Denis. After three decades, it shows mature aromas of dried cherry, forest floor and truffle, with faint notes of cedar and spice from long bottle ageing. The palate is supple and savoury, its tannins now fine and resolved, supporting flavours of red fruit, leaf and earth. Acidity remains present, giving definition to the wine’s evolved texture.

The 1993 Clos de la Roche Cuvée Vieilles Vignes Grand Cru comes from one of my favorite vintages and is showing beautifully. Quintessential Clos de la Roche with ebullient red fruit, sage, hints of menthol and a touch of undergrowth, this conveys more complexity than either the preceding bottles of 2005 or 1999. The palate is medium-bodied with finely-chiseled tannins, superb salinity and freshness, almost citric-like with so much energy and tension on the persistent finish. Typical of this vintage, this is a Clos de la Roche you want to drink down to the last drop. Superb. Tasted at Ponsot's 150th anniversary vertical at the Domaine. Neal Martin1st May 2023

Burgundian Pioneers

An estate that looms large in the mythology of Burgundy. Domaine Ponsot were early adopters of the practice of estate-bottling in the 1930s and also pioneered research into clonal selection - a key aspect of modern viticulture. Up until 2017, the domaine was under the stewardship of Laurent Ponsot, who did much to promote his family's wines. Laurent took what he saw as the best of organic and biodynamic practices without ever pursuing formal certification. On paper, the approach in the winery seems almost spartan - no sorting table at the cellar, fermentation is proceeds according to the whims of the native yeasts, absolutely no new wood is used during maturation and bottling takes place in line with a particular lunar phase.

While this approach might seem esoteric, the high quality of the wines and the praise they receive is universal. The Grand Cru wines are some of the finest in the Côte d'Or - concentrated, powerful and intense, all made with fruit from 50+ year vines. While Laurent may have moved on, his sister Rose-Marie has continued to maintain quality as sole proprietor of Domaine Ponsot.
