Clos de la Roche is one of Morey-Saint-Denis’ four grand cru vineyards, spanning 16.9 hectares of Pinot Noir vines. Renowned producers such as Domaine Ponsot, Domaine Dujac, and Domaine Armand Rousseau hold significant parcels here. Rousseau acquired two plots, one in 1920-1921 and the other in 1975. The wines from Clos de la Roche are known for their mineral character, vibrant fruit, and excellent ageing potential, offering long-lasting depth and consistency.

The 1992 vintage is showing beautifully now, with mature aromas of dried red fruit, earthy undertones, and subtle hints of leather. The wine has developed a lovely complexity, with a balance of freshness and depth. Fine tannins still provide structure, while the finish is long and harmonious, demonstrating the potential of this grand cru to evolve gracefully over time.
