Clinet 2006 is a full-bodied Merlot-based red wine from the Pomerol appellation of Bordeaux. In charge of the estate since 1985, the late Denis Durantou (1957-2020) was a hugely influential winemaker-proprietor whose wines, in terms of sheer quality, frequently rivalled those of the appellation`s most illustrious names. On the 2006 grand vin. "Rich, black cherry fruit and liquorice, this is sleek and subtle, with a sense of restrained and tamed tannins. The oak is evident but is not drying and exerts a sense of pressure on the final furlong. Great potential for ageing, with a clear seam of freshness. The fruit is almost sparring with the acidity on the mid-palate. More understated than some, this has great length and plenty of life ahead. Drinking Window 2016-2028." Decanter, 2016
