Claus Preisinger Pinot Noir 2022 is a medium-bodied red wine from the Burgenland region, sourced from biodynamic vineyards on the Parndorfer Platte. The elevated limestone soils of the vineyard contribute to this wine`s chiselled character, shaped by cool winds that impart a delicate balance. Naturally fermented in open vats for five days, the wine showcases a pure essence of Pinot Noir, marked by its layering of red fruit and subtle earthy notes. After fermentation, it rested for eight months in amphorae.

The 2022 Pinot Noir was picked in Herrenwald and Aussatz sites, lying along the plateau on heavier soils as they take longer to warm. The sites are also well-ventilated. The grapes were 100% whole-bunch fermented for five days, then pressed gently and matured in 1,000-liter clay amphorae. An initial note is almost medicinal of cinchona bark and licorice. Underneath that, tender red fruit peeks through and shimmers with iron oxide. The palate is tender, light, bright and spicy, but the flavors are full. Freshness and spice are inherent in this wine and come with proper length. (Bone-dry)Anne Krebiehl15th February 2024
