Taking its name from the Irish family that bought the estate in 1771, Château Clarke was purchased by Baron Edmond de Rothschild in 1973. The 2012 vintage is a blend of 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, barrel aged for 16 months. Offering up an intense black fruited bouquet with hints of mint and liquorice, following through to a rich and concentrated palate with fresh acidity.

From Baron Edmond de Rothschild, this blend of 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon comes from a large 125-plus-acre estate in Listrac and is well made in 2012. Dark ruby/purple, with notes of blackcurrants, new saddle leather, earth and spice, the wine is medium-bodied and concentrated, with relatively light tannin. Drink it over the next 10+ years.
