Duty Charges

Below is a summary of the new duty charges per bottle as of February 2026. Please note that these vary depending on the ABV and are subject to change. Please get in touch if you require more information:

Transparent Billing and Rate Calculations

Annual Billing: Clients are invoiced annually based on the wines stored in the preceding year.
Case Equivalents: A case is defined as 9 litres of wine (typically twelve 750ml bottles), ensuring clarity in pricing.
Pro-Rata Charges: Storage fees are charged on a per-bottle basis, and wines stored for part of a month will be billed accordingly.

How to Use Our Bonded Storage

Purchase en primeur or under-bond wines from Hedonism Wines.
Automatically enjoy twelve months of free storage at our bonded storage when you open your storage account.
After twelve months, your storage will continue at the rates outlined above, with quarterly invoicing.
When you are ready to receive your wines, simply request delivery. Most orders are fulfilled within 3-4 working days.

Inside is The Chichibu Code #8275, distilled on 3 August 2017, matured in a first-fill bourbon cask, and bottled in June 2025 at 65.8%. This seven-year-old, heavily peated single malt made from Odyssey barley unveils aromas of caramel, candied bacon, pine bark, and roasted beef, leading to a palate of peppered meat, honey, beeswax, and roasted pineapple, culminating in a long, umami-driven finish.

With just 180 bottles available worldwide, including one reserved for the Venture Whisky archive, The Chichibu Code stands among the most exclusive Chichibu releases ever made. It is not merely a whisky but an experience — a spirit whose journey begins long before the first sip. Opening the box is an act of discovery; only once the code is cracked does the full character of this remarkable whisky reveal itself.

Chichibu Distillery is a Japanese whisky distillery located in the small town of Chichibu, northwest of Tokyo. Established in 2004 by Ichiro Akuto, it is a relatively young distillery in the world of whisky-making, but has quickly gained a reputation for producing some of the finest single malt whiskies in Japan. Chichibu's whisky-making process is steeped in tradition and attention to detail. The distillery sources only the highest quality malted barley from around the world, and uses a combination of pot stills and column stills to distill the whisky.
