A blended malt Japanese whisky from the Saitama prefecture, Chichibu and Hanyu Ghost Series No 8 is a unique union of spirits crafted from the now-closed Hanyu distillery and the contemporary Chichibu distillery, both part of the Akuto family`s legacy. This expression showcases a harmonious balance of mature, leathery notes sourced from Hanyu and the vibrant, floral characteristics from younger Chichibu whisky. Tasting reveals layers of sandalwood, dried pineapple, and subtle peat smoke, reflective of the diverse cask types employed. Its label features traditional Japanese spirits, further enhancing its cultural narrative. This release illustrates the evolution of Japanese whisky through its contrasting ages and production methods.

Chichibu Distillery is a Japanese whisky distillery located in the small town of Chichibu, northwest of Tokyo. Established in 2004 by Ichiro Akuto, it is a relatively young distillery in the world of whisky-making, but has quickly gained a reputation for producing some of the finest single malt whiskies in Japan. Chichibu's whisky-making process is steeped in tradition and attention to detail. The distillery sources only the highest quality malted barley from around the world, and uses a combination of pot stills and column stills to distill the whisky.
