Chevalier-Montrachet Etienne Sauzet 2006 presents a complex bouquet dominated by white floral notes alongside subtle citrus undertones. The palate reveals a precise mineral core, characterised by its sharp acidity and measured richness. Flavours unfold with an intricate balance, showcasing notes of stone fruits and a hint of oak influence. The finish is notably lengthy, revealing layers of complexity. Vinous
Bright yellow. Expressive aromas of crystallized lemon peel and yellow rose. Powerful and penetrating in the mouth, but with noteworthy delicacy to the flavors of yellow fruits, minerals and crushed stone. A lovely mineral style of 2006 with a light touch, from fruit harvested early. Not at all a masculine version of Chevalier; this one's more like a ballerina. The '06s are opulent but the '05s are greater wines, opines Sauzet, adding that 2006 was a successful vintage in Puligny-Montrachet due to the minerality of the soils here.Stephen Tanzer1st September 2008
