Domaine Leflaive Chevalier-Montrachet 2022 is a Grand Cru white Burgundy from one of the most-prized Chardonnay vineyard plots in the Côte de Beaune. Domaine Leflaive Grands Crus can be powerful yet austere when young and often require 10 to 15 years of ageing to show their true colours. Leflaive has been certified biodynamic since 1997.

The 2022 Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru bursts from the glass with scents of crushed limestone, lemon thyme, a touch of orange blossom and linseed. This wine shows lovely, life-affirming complexity and intensity. The palate is harmonious with a killer line of acidity. It's incredibly pure, and there's a peacock's tail on the finish. The 2022 builds supremely well with each sip and conveys a sense of completeness that is just very Chevalier-Montrachet. Magnificent. Neal Martin17th July 2024

Domaine Leflaive

The pinnacle of Puligny-Montrachet

Founded in the 18th century, Domaine Leflaive has built a storied reputation for its commitment to biodynamic farming and exceptional craftsmanship. The estate owns 22 hectares of vineyards, including 10 hectares of Premiers Crus in Puligny-Montrachet (Les Combettes, Les Pucelles, Le Clavoillon, Les Folatières), as well as no fewer than 5 hectares of Grands Crus (Chevalier-Montrachet, Bâtard-Montrachet, Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet, and a tiny holding in Le Montrachet).

Joseph Leflaive, whose vision and dedication in the early 20th century were pivotal, transformed the domaine into a symbol of excellence. In the 1990s, Anne-Claude Leflaive introduced biodynamic practices, adhering to rigorous standards that respect the natural rhythms of the earth, promoting soil health and vine vitality without synthetic chemicals. This holistic approach results in Chardonnay wines celebrated for their purity, depth, and complexity. Each bottle reflects the rich heritage and innovative spirit that have made Domaine Leflaive a revered name among wine enthusiasts.
