Omnia is Latin for “all”, and this particular wine is a blend of all 9 of Mounir Saouma’s vineyards in Châteauneuf-du-Pape providing a snapshot of the entire region’s terroir. A blend of 80% Grenache, 10% Syrah and 10% Mourvedre from selected old vines, it is vinified and aged in foudres, cement and 500-litre barrels, with no racking, fining or filtration. The result is a gloriously harmonious and expressive wine that exudes all the finest traits of the region through its rich red fruits and stoney minerality, yet has a silkiness and inner mouth perfume more akin to high level Burgundy.
Vinous
Vivid ruby. Explosive red berry liqueur, incense and Asian spice scents show superb clarity, with hints of floral oils and minerals providing additional lift. Silky, seamless and concentrated, offering sweet raspberry and cherry compote flavors sharpened by tangy acidity. A powerful yet graceful Châteauneuf with excellent closing focus and thrust.Josh Raynolds1st April 2015
