Saint Préfert Châteauneuf-du-Pape Collection Charles Giraud 2010 is a full-bodied, blended red wine from the southern Rhône Valley of France. Domaine Saint-Préfert was one of the leading producers in the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation until 2020, when the domaine`s name was changed to Famille Isabel Ferrando. Owner-winemaker Isabel Ferrando purchased the domaine from the Serre family in the early 2000s and is renowned for producing some of the most profound wines in France. "Absolutely monumental and a phenomenal bottle of wine, the 2010 Domaine Saint Préfert Châteauneuf-du-Pape Collection Charles Giraud, 60% Grenache and 40% Mourvedre, is the largest scaled wine in the lineup and boasts incredible richness and depth, while at the same time staying fresh, pure, and elegant on the palate. Possessing thrilling aromatics of blackberry liqueur, meat juice, roasted herbs, licorice, lavender, and garrigue, this hits the palate with a full-bodied, decadent, and voluptuous texture that carries masses of ripe tannin, beautiful freshness, and blockbuster length and focus on the finish. It is incredible stuff, hits all the right notes for me, and will drink well for two decades or more." 100 points, Jeb Dunnuck, 2012

The 2010 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Collection Charles Giraud is outstanding, showcasing pronounced notes of sandalwood, bay leaf, dried rose petal, wild strawberry, crushed rocks and a touch of licorice. The full-bodied palate offers vertical lift, delivering remarkable energy despite its elevated alcohol and concentrated flavors. Seamless in the mouth, it finishes with resilience and focus. The 2010 is a standout Charles Giraud.Nicolas Greinacher1st November 2024
