Domaine Grand Veneur La Fontaine Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blanc 2005 is a full-bodied southern Rhône white wine made from 100% Roussanne fermented and aged in French oak barrels. From the very warm 2005 vintage, this is a classically proportioned, mouth-coating southern Rhône white with notes of honeyed stone fruits, dried citrus peel and anise spice. Domaine Grand Veneur was founded in 1976 by Alain Jaume, who succeeded in transforming his family`s bulk winemaking business into one of the most respected fine wine brands in the southern Rhône. The estate is now run by siblings Sébastien, Christophe and Hèlène - the sixth generation of the Jaume winegrowing family

Darker in color, but just as fresh and lively, the 2005 Châteauneuf du Pape la Fontaine Blanc is 100% Roussanne that spent 10 months in foudre. Poached pears, apple, honeyed stone fruits and subtle brioche all emerge from this beauty, and it’s medium to full-bodied on the palate. This is a mature, classy Châteauneuf du Pape white that will continue to evolve nicely.Jeb Dunnuck28th February 2015
