Chateau Musar 2011 presents a deep ruby hue, suggesting a complex wine. On the nose, it reveals aromas of black fruits like plum and blackberry, intertwined with earthy undertones and hints of spice. The palate is full-bodied, showcasing rich tannins alongside flavors of dark chocolate and leather, with a touch of roasted herbs.
This vintage is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cinsault, and Carignan, sourced from the Bekaa Valley in Lebanon. The unique terroir and climate contribute to its distinctive character, reflecting the winemaking heritage of Chateau Musar, established in 1930. The wine benefits from aging in oak barrels, allowing for integration of flavors and future development.

Fairly deep ruby. A denser, more concentrated, linear nose than the 2010 served alongside. A certain dustiness of aroma. This seems more obviously Cabernet than most Musar reds. Still quite youthful. Falls away a little on the end. Well judged but less distinctive and less obviously Lebanese than some vintages. Decent balance. Certainly not over the top. (JR)Jancis Robinson19th February 2018
