Château Barbanau was founded in 1889 by Emile Bodin in the region of Cassis. Though the old vines of the original vineyard, Clos Val Bruyère, lay dormant for almost a century, they were revived in 1989 by great-granddaughter Sophie and her husband, Didier. This white wine is produced from that same 7-hectare walled vineyard which is situated just metres from the sea. It is a blend of 30% Ugni Blanc, 30% Clairette, 30% Marsanne and 10% Sauvignon Blanc.
