The 2019 Chassagne-Montrachet from Philippe Colin is a village-level Chardonnay from the Côte de Beaune. This vintage presents a balance between richness and minerality. Aged entirely in barrels, with 30% new oak, the wine showcases subtle toasted nuances alongside its fruit character. The wine presents aromas of citrus, ripe pear and a hint of almond skin. The palate reveals a smooth texture with bright acidity, enhancing its ageing potential.

The 2019 Chassagne-Montrachet Village, which had also been bottled in August, has a vibrant minty bouquet that has plenty of energy. The palate is well balanced with orange zest and blackcurrant leaf on the entry. There is fine acidity here with a dab of salinity lending tension on the slightly short finish. Par for the course.
