Established in the late 1920s by Pierre Ramonet, Domaine Jean-Claude Ramonet is one of the leading producers of white Burgundy today. The prestigious estate is based in Chassagne-Montrachet and currently run by the talented Noël Ramonet and his brother Jean-Claude. This release comes from the Premier Cru Les Ruchottes, where Ramonet owns a 1.18-hectare plot. The summer of 2002 was cooler and wetter than usual, resulting in a slower ripening process for the grapes. This extended hang time allowed the Chardonnay grapes to develop complexity and retain acidity.

Pure, scented aromas of lime and mint. Chewy, sweet and superrich, with very intense lime and floral flavors framed by vibrant acidity. Boasts a wonderfully fine texture and very firm structure for aging. Powerful but also very classy wine, with terrific inner-mouth energy and superb length for a premier cru.Stephen Tanzer1st September 2004
