Based in Chassagne-Montrachet, Philippe Colin is a relatively new domaine which was established in 2004. This is the 2005 vintage of their cuvée ‘Les Chenevottes’, a premier cru vineyard at the base of the Mont-Rachet Hill. The nose has a nutty character, complemented by lemons and ripe peaches. On the palate, this is a ripe expression, featuring notes of pears, spices and white flowers.

Light yellow. Deep aroma of nut oil, lemon and ripe peach. Rich, ripe and sweet, with a velvety texture to the flavors of pear, spices and white flowers. Finishes tactile and quite reserved, saturating the palate with bracing citrus flavor and dusty stone. This has a serious structure for aging and should really be held for five or six years. In comparison, the young '06 is more flattering today.Stephen Tanzer1st September 2007
