Domaine Vincent Dancer Chassagne-Montrachet La Romanée 2013 is a white Burgundy from the 1er Cru climate of La Romanée in the Chardonnay-producing village of Chassagne. Alsace-raised Vincent Dancer made his first domaine wines in 2003. Now working fully organically in the vineyards, Dancer is renowned for producing tense, mineral-driven Chardonnays. Of his 2013s he says. “I think 2013 is a nice ‘traditional’ vintage with good freshness – I don’t really like heavier wines. It was helped by having a nice September for harvesting, and we harvested a roughly similar time to the 2004 and 2008 vintages – both of which I really like.” Burgundy Report

Vinous
Pale, bright yelow. Pungent aromas of lime, quinine and minerals. Dense, sweet and youthfully taut, offering lovely precision to its flavors of white peach, minerals and spices. Larger-scaled than the Grands Charrons but with no shortage of calcaire energy. Finishes ripe, saline and persistent. From a healthy crop level of 50 hectoliters per hectare. Dancer noted that the salinity shown by this wine is typical of the 2013 vintage.Stephen Tanzer1st September 2015
