Domaine Blain-Gagnard was established in the 1980s by Jean-Marc Blain and Claudine Gagnard, combining their respective family vineyards to create the estate. It is currently owned and managed by their daughter, Sarah Blain, who took over the reins from her parents. This release hails from ‘La Boudriotte’, a small Premier Cru vineyard located just southeast of Chassagne-Montrachet village. The 2010 growing season in Burgundy was characterized by favourable weather conditions, resulting in wines with great balance and complexity.

More welcoming than the Puligny village wine, more creamy. Has the similar sour freshness. Relatively austere but also very persistent. Overall shows marked restraint on the palate but very good length. Needs time. (JH)Julia Harding9th January 2012
