Domaine Jacques Carillon Chassagne-Montrachet 2022 is a full-bodied Burgundy white wine from the commune of Chassagne-Montrachet in the Côte de Beaune. The Carillon family has owned vineyards in Puligny-Montrachet since the 16th century. Jacques Carillon took over management of the domaine in the 1980s. Typically the Chardonnays of the domaine are barrel-fermented and aged for 12 months in small oak barrels followed by six months in stainless steel vats. "The 2022 Chassagne-Montrachet Village is made in an accessible style, according to Carillon, with part of the blend from 10-year-old vines and seeing 20% new barrels. It has an open bouquet with yellow fruit and light honeysuckle scents. Well-defined. The palate is medium-bodied with a slightly honeyed opening and a dab of stem ginger, quite linear towards the finish that tapers slightly. Enjoy after a couple of years in bottle." Neal Martin, 2023

Vinous
The 2022 Chassagne-Montrachet Village has a little more energy than the Puligny Village at the moment. The palate is well balanced with a keen line of acidity, dried honey and light walnut notes with more complexity on the finish. This is a step up from the Puligny.
