Pale yellow. Fruit aromas of pear, peach, lemon and lime are lifted by a floral topnote. A step up in intensity and texture from the Saint-Aubin En Remilly, with very ripe stone and citrus fruit flavors complicated by a saline element and conveying surprising inner-mouth tension. Finishes a touch harsh but with good sweetness and length--not to mention more power than the Remilly. Marc Bachelet noted that virtually all of the brothers' village parcels in Chassagne-Montrachet are situated close to cru vineyards.Stephen Tanzer1st September 2017

The 2015 Chassagne Montrachet Village was stubbornly backward and tight-lipped on the nose, just a faint saline scent of the sea developing in the glass. The palate is well balanced with a slight chalky texture, plenty of citrus fruit with a subtle tropical edge, peach and Conference pear forming the finish, a hint of lemongrass on the aftertaste. This is a fine village cru from Bachelet-Monnot.Neal Martin28th December 2016

Rising Stars

Founded by rising stars Marc and Alexandre Bachelet in 2005, Domaine Bachelet Monnot manage 10 hectares of vines in the communes in Maranges, Santenay and Puligny-Montrachet. The focus is on traditional techniques, terroir-led winemaking - 50% new oak is used for Grand Cru wines, but employed to a lesser extent for Premier Cru and Village-level wines.

Key vineyards for Bachelet Monnot in Maranges are La Fussière, which they produce in both red and white, and Clos de la Boutière. In Puligny-Montrachet, Marc and Alexandre produce Premier Crus Les Referts and Folatières along with Grand Crus Bienvenues-Bâtard Montrachet and Bâtard-Montrachet.
