Château Ducru-Beaucaillou 2004 originates from one of St-Julien’s distinguished properties, owned by the Borie family. This vintage is crafted from a blend of approximately 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot and smaller proportions of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. The estate’s 50 hectares sit atop gravel-based soils, ensuring proper drainage and influencing the wine`s character. Aged for 18 months in oak barriques, the 2004 vintage displays aromas of blackcurrant and plum with undertones of earth and spice, showcasing the complexity associated with this esteemed estate.

The 2022 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru is showing especially well, wafting from the glass with aromas of sweet red berries and plums mingled with orange zest, violets and spices. Medium to full-bodied, ample and suave, with a cool core of pure, succulent fruit structured around melting tannins, it`s elegant and harmonious, concluding with a long, floral finish. - William Kelley
Vinous
The 2022 Ruchottes-Chambertin Grand Cru contains just over 75% whole bunches. The bouquet is initially terse and ruthlessly mineral-driven: wet limestone and petrichor scents merging with aloof black fruit. The medium-bodied palate is lightly spiced with very fine tannins. It is very cohesive, with a granular texture that seems to coat the mouth. In some ways, it’s an uncompromising Ruchottes but also honest and soulful. It will age with style.Neal Martin17th January 2024
