Charles Heidsieck is among the most esteemed Champagne houses, with a history dating back to the 1850s. As the smallest of the Grandes Marques, this family-owned estate has recently gained popularity among both trade and consumers. The Blanc des Millénaires has quickly become renowned for its quality and age-worthiness, crafted exclusively from Chardonnay grapes sourced from four of the finest Grand Crus, Oger, Mesnil-sur-Oger, Avize, and Cramant and one Premier Cru, Vertus, in the Côte des Blancs. The 2014 vintage delivers remarkable purity. Initial notes of minerality open up to citrus and apricot, with a hint of fresh pastry. A fantastic example of Chardonnay and the house’s style.
96 The Wine Independent
Light gold with languid bubbles, the Charles Heidsieck Blanc de Millénaires 2014 is the eighth release of this cuvée. The blend comes from five selected Côte des Blancs crus that were aged nine years on fine lees and finished with a nine grams per liter dosage. The nose is toasty and buttery with an underlying concentration of orchard fruit, raw almonds, orange peel and honey. The medium-bodied palate has a focused, precise fruit concentration opulently draped in a vibrant acid cloak that adds a delicate finesse to the long, fresh finish.Sarah Mayo18th December 2024

Where Heritage Meets the Finesse of Time

For nearly two centuries, Charles Heidsieck has stood as a beacon of excellence in the world of Champagne, crafting some of the most expressive and meticulously aged wines in the region. Founded in 1851 by the visionary Charles-Camille Heidsieck, the house quickly earned a reputation for bold innovation and unwavering quality. Nicknamed “Champagne Charlie” for his pioneering efforts in introducing Champagne to America, Heidsieck’s adventurous spirit lives on in every bottle. The maison’s historic chalk cellars, dating back to the Gallo-Roman era, provide the ideal conditions for the long ageing that defines Charles Heidsieck’s signature depth and complexity.

Renowned for its opulent texture, rich aromas, and refined balance, Charles Heidsieck Champagne is crafted using an exceptionally high proportion of reserve wines, some aged for over 10 years. This dedication to extended maturation results in an unmistakable creaminess and layered complexity. From the elegant Brut Réserve to the prestigious Blanc des Millénaires, every cuvée reflects the house’s meticulous craftsmanship and commitment to excellence. With a legacy built on time, patience, and audacious creativity, Charles Heidsieck remains one of Champagne’s most distinguished and sought-after names
