Blanc des Millénaires was first produced by Champagne Charles Heidsieck in 1983 and was released 10 years later in 1993. Prior to the 1995, there had only been two release in 1985 and 1990, with only two releases subsequently in 2004 and 2006. For many afficionados, this is one of the ultimate expressions of Blanc de Blancs Champagne and is renowned for its concentration, complexity and freshness. Now at 26 years of age, this is perfectly in its drinking window.

The 1995 Brut Blanc des Millenaires shows just how compelling this often overlooked vintage can be. Layers of lemon, pastry spices, crushed rocks and savory herbs literally jump from the glass in this exquisite, perfumed, beautifully delineated Champagne. The 1995 shows lovely flavor complexity and nuance from its extended time in bottle, yet it also retains plenty of freshness, verve and acidity. This is a great showing from Charles Heidsieck. The 1995 was made before the tenure of the house's current team, headed by CEO Cécile Bonnefond. It will be very interesting to see what develops at this historic property over the coming years. Wonderful depth and complexity. Fully mature autolysed Chardonnay fruit. Curiously attractive smell of damp plaster(!). Refreshing, neat palate attack – already lovely. (JR)

Nicknamed “Champagne Charlie” for his pioneering efforts in introducing Champagne to America, Heidsieck’s adventurous spirit lives on in every bottle. The maison’s historic chalk cellars, dating back to the Gallo-Roman era, provide the ideal conditions for the long ageing that defines Charles Heidsieck’s signature depth and complexity.

Renowned for its opulent texture, rich aromas, and refined balance, Charles Heidsieck Champagne is crafted using an exceptionally high proportion of reserve wines, some aged for over 10 years.
