Hudelot-Baillet is a family-owned winery, currently led by Dominique Leguen, who is the son-in-law of Jöel Hudelot-Baillet. Leguen joined the estate after his service in the air force in 1998 and has been responsible for winemaking since 2002. While their vineyards are primarily located in the Chambolle-Musigny appellation, they produce a diverse range of wines, ranging from the prestigious Grand Cru Bonnes-Mares to their entry-level Bourgogne Rouge. This particular release originates from Les Charmes, which is the largest and most renowned Premier Cru in Chambolle-Musigny. The 2021 vintage is still in its early stages but holds great promise, boasting notes of black fruit, cassis, and delicate floral nuances.
Vinous
The 2021 Chambolle-Musigny Les Charmes 1er Cru has an expressive bouquet with black cherries, raspberry confit and light sous-bois aromas, becoming more opulent with aeration. The palate is sweet on the entry, rounded in texture with wild strawberry and raspberry, white pepper and thyme, harmonious on the finish, though not as complex as the Les Cras. - Neil Martin - The 2021 Chambolle-Musigny Les Charmes 1er Cru has an expressive bouquet with black cherries, raspberry confit and light sous-bois aromas, becoming more opulent with aeration.
