Domaine Ghislaine Barthod is one of Chambolle-Musigny’s most respected producers, known for its elegant and terroir-driven wines. Barthod, with her organic practices and low-intervention approach, crafts wines that embody the essence of Chambolle’s delicate yet powerful character. The 1993 Chambolle-Musigny Les Charmes is a mature, beautifully balanced wine with aromas of dried red fruit, roses, earthy spice, and subtle truffle. The palate is complex, with silky tannins, vibrant acidity, and a long, mineral-driven finish. Despite its age, it retains freshness and depth, with a remarkable ability to evolve further with time.

The Chambolle-Musigny Les Charmes lives up to its name, offering an attractive perfume that is just beginning to reveal itself, rich, medium-bodied, concentrated fruit, fresh, vibrant acidity, medium body, and very good to excellent concentration. Although closed, it is well-made and vibrant.
The 1993s from Ghislaine Barthod are successful wines, with enough ripe fruit extraction to balance out the vintage`s tannic structure. They require 5-6 years of cellaring and should last for 12-15. - Robert M. Parker, Jr.
