Domaine Anne Gros Chambolle-Musigny La Combe d`Orveau is a village-level red Burgundy from the Côte de Nuits. Located in a sheltered valley just above the legendary Grand Cru Musigny, this site benefits from significant limestone deposits in the soil. The 2010 vintage is noted for its classical proportions and vibrant acidity, which provides a sharp contrast to the more opulent 2009. Gros avoids heavy extraction, focusing on aromatic complexity and finesse. This bottling reveals intense stony minerality and high-toned red fruit, reflecting the cooling influence of the breezes that regularly flow through this combe.

Vinous
Palish red. High-pitched aromas of raspberry, crushed stone and rose petal. Dense, sappy and quite dry, with serious acidity giving spine to the flavors of red fruits, crushed stone, spices and blood orange. Not an easy style but sharply chiseled and painfully young for village wine, offering noteworthy inner-palate tension. Finishes with good subtle length. I`d give this five years to harmonize and deepen in the bottle.Stephen Tanzer1st March 2013
