Domaine Rossignol-Trapet was founded in 1961 through the marriage of Jacques Rossignol and Mado Trapet. The estate, which is situated in Gevrey-Chambertin, has been managed by brothers Nicolas and David Rossignol since 1990. This is their 2020 Chambertin Grand Cru, produced from a total of 1.6 hectares in two parcels that run from the bottom of the slope to the top. Expect notes of dark plums, blackberries, rose petals, spices and just a hint of smoke.

Vinous
The 2020 Chambertin Grand Cru is utterly seductive on the nose with crystalline red fruit and crushed stone, just pure Pinoté that is not as common in this vintage as others. Delectable. The palate has plenty of pure red fruit on the entry, more citrus-fresh than Camille Giroud's Chambertin, with exquisite balance and filigree tannins. It is very pure and expressive, sensual and refined, with an intellectual aspect that keeps the taste hooked. This is an absorbing Grand Cru that will give long-term pleasure. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting. Neal Martin30th October 2024
