Domaine Prieuré Roch was established by the late Henry-Frédéric Roch who came to prominence as the co-director of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti. The philosophy of the domaine is built upon producing exceptionally limited wines from old, organically-farmed vines. The Chambertin Close de Béze is a complex and generous wine with beautiful balance of freshness, concentration and elegance.

A Burgundian Titan

Founded in 1988 by Henri-Frédéric Roch, whose family are part-owners of the famous Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, Prieure Roch produce wine from vineyard parcels in communes as diverse as Ladoix, Chambertin, Vosne Romanée and Savigny Les Beune. Farming of the vineyards is done to organic standards, veering towards full biodynamics in some instances and cellar techniques are strictly traditional - vinified in large wooden vats, manual punching down and without the use of sulphur.

Wines are kept in barrel for 12-24 months before bottling, although some experiments with extended ageing have taken place - most notably in 2002. These are elegant wines with the ripeness and poise that one would expect from a family that also produce arguable some of the world's great Pinot Noir.
